About the webmaster and his website

I created this gay guide as a pastime and hobby when I found there was no other information in English about the gay scene in Santiago. The information has been researched during my periodic visits to Santiago, Chile starting in March 1998, and most recently in April 2006. I have not been able to visit all of the gay places listed here but I have gathered as much information as I can from a variety of sources. I do not ask for or receive any payment or other benefits from any of the businesses listed here.

My name is Ian, I am from Manchester, England, and I lived in South America from April 1997, mostly in Lima, Peru, and from April 2007 in Buenos Aires, Argentina until September 2007. I have traveled extensively in Peru, and the rest of South America, (you can read about some of my travels in Ian's Travel Tales - see Useful Links on another page. I have a good knowledge of gay life and places in Lima, Peru and to a lesser extent Quito, Ecuador; Santiago, Chile; and Buenos Aires, Argentina . The best advice I can give to any independent traveler intending to visit this continent is to join the South American Explorers whose information resources, services and discounts will undoubtedly make your travels easier and cheaper.
